Huế – the Imperial City holding in itself a 700-year history of vicissitudes – has been a reputable tourist destination. The legacy of the ancient Champa civilization, the Royal Court of Nguyễn Dynasty, natural diversity and human adaptivity have shaped Huế as a land of harmony and spirituality. It is in this city that Buddhism has been part of local life, and traditions as well as customs have defined an unmistaken art of living: Huế – a city of unchanged slowness. While in Huế, you should slow down to truly absorb an awakened living and touch the scents of the place.
At TCP-Slow Travel Hue, we don’t see a scarcity of time. WE MAKE TIME. We encourage travelers to slow down by all means, cycling, riding rickshaw (cyclo), rowing sampan or walking and spending a quantity time at each place, not for sightseeing but living the moment. Recently, we have a couple on our Kim Long longevity secrets who could not cycle. Rickshaw was offered as alternative. Despite the light rain, they had a very warm and wonderful day, as they really immersed into the local lifestyle and enjoyed a leisurely and authentic discovery.
“Heartily recommend. Absolutely all was perfect. Throughout the day, we went from surprises to surprises. What’s a wonderful day! Thank you, Anh, for knowing to give us time to appreciate and fully live the authenticity of the places. Bravo!”
Slow Travel is about experiences over sights. It’s the participation in ordinary daily activities to learn how people live: their food, culture, language, art & architecture, local beliefs, etc, the quirky details that make a place unique
