1. What are special features of Slow Travel Hue tours?

Slow Travel Hue is passionate on crafting innovative travel experiences from Hue, central Vietnam and beyond. Each tour is inspired by slow travel principles, to unveil the special local characteristics.

We have devoted ourselves to enriching activities with attention to details. We integrate immersive crafts, food, herbal, local living and give customers quality time to explore it. 

2. Do Slow Travel Hue arrange other travel services ?

Yes, we are willing to assist you with all travel arrangement upon request, for your stay in Hue and other visits anywhere in Vietnam. Booking flight, train, transportation… we are fond of small and beautiful eco accommodation and off-the-beaten track tours.

We love to consult you unique itinerary to explore Vietnam thoroughly. 

3. What does your boutique offer?

Our mission is to “Integrate Slow Travel and Vietnamese Crafts”. You will find herbal natural products, Vietnamese food and drink, gifts from crafts and Community-based tourism projects.

Make your trip meaningful even before and after the tour by pre or post order handpicked gifts from our Boutique!

4. Are your tour private or join-in?

Most of our tours are on private basis yet we do organise a few join-in small group tour. For join-in tours, we require a minimum of 2 persons/tour and maximum of 15 persons to assure authenticity.

For solo traveler or big groups, please let us know to find the most comfortable arrangement for you. 

5. Is the price included everything?

The price includes nearly everything: experienced guide, meal, activities with locals, bike, drinks, safety equipment and insurance. 

For join-in tours, the meeting point is at our central office unless otherwise advised (we will contact you before tour for your best convenient).

For private tours, pick up is applied for centrally hotel or within 10km from center.

6. Why does your tours seem to be expensive?

We thrive to bring you best quality for time and money. We craft unique experiences with a lot of people involved, especially the local community, to offer you true interaction and authentic, safe and fun activities.

Once being on the tour, you will not worry about any hidden cost, or obligation. Trust that your participation brings a meaningful contribution to local community.

 

7. What should I bring on the tour?

Psychologically, you should “bring” your eagerness to go local in a friendly, open and welcoming manner.

Physically, for rural immersion, please wear comfortable clothes to make it easy for activities. For visiting cultural places, please well cover your shoulder and knees. A windbreaker is recommended in winter time (October to February).

We provide helmets, light rain ponchos, (life vest, conical hat), towel,  water,  first aid kits. Please bring your own refillable bottle to avoid single-use plastic. 

8. How much is the cycling? What if I can't?

The longest cycling is 20km/day, or 1.5hours if done continuously. However, we go with slow pace, on flat road with many stops for interaction, experiences, relax. It is doable for all level. Cycling is just a means to help you go deeper, eco-friendly to really appreciate the local culture and living.

We can shorten, customize the distance on request. Alternatively, you can take a chauffeured vehicle or rickshaw. There are quality bike seats, kid bikes for families. 

9. Are the tours suitable for family with kids?

All of our tours are very family friendly at we go at slow pace, include all safe and fun activities for all. Especially, there are many interactive and educational experiences for children to learn. For family with small kids, we recommend rural, craft tours than art and architecture tours. 

We have some wild and nature adventure tours which requires some trekking and physical fits, thus please read the tour carefully and let us know your family request to customize accordingly.

Child up to 5 years old are free of charge and child rates is applied for 6-11 years old (approximately 50% of adult rates). 

 

10. Do you cater special diet request?

A home hosted meal, or local eateries are the highlight of the tour. You will partially participate in preparing and cooking typical menu with local ingredients.

We cater all special diet request with prior notice.

11. What are your safety measures?

With constant concern about clients’ health and safety, all activities are safety-oriented. Helmets, life vests, first-aid kits, safety briefing…etc. are provided. There is always a shortcut option in case clients do not feel comfortable.

We buy an extra accident insurance just in case however guests must take care of their own travel insurance to support at best. 

12. Will the tour be cancelled due to rain?

It usually rains in Hue from October to February. Exploring Hue in the rain brings clients novel and different feelings, and you will see Hue from a new perspective. Most importantly, you can’t lose a chance to the rain.

Moreover, our tours include a lot of visits and sheltered stops. So the tours are still operational except for storms or severe weather challenges.

13. How can I book the tour?

You can use Booking form  from our website, related tour page. Our team will contact you back to confirm and provide more information. If your group or scenarios does not fall to the mentioned options to book directly or your prefer having a better quotation, please use Enquiry form. 

Further communication about payment, amendment will be made via email, phone, in person or chat box.

14. How long in advance should I book the tour?

We try to accommodate all last minute bookings. However, since all are our tours are “handcrafted” and need a lot of time to prepare all details with care, the sooner you book the better.

In average, we recommend to book at least 3 days in advance for day tours and 2 to 4 week in advance for multiple day packages.

Sustainability, Happiness, Nature

Our mascot is a humanised turtle wearing a heart shaped shell, travelling slowly and happily. The head leans on Sustainability to promote a “tourism that respects both local people and the traveler, cultural heritage and the environment”. Our heart shares Happiness or “Fulfilling in connecting”.
