The tour starts around 8:00 and finishes 16:00 from Hue city center. On a private tour, we will pick you up from your central hotels. For join-in tour, please join our central meeting point unless advised otherwise.
It is an easy cycling with maximum 17km on flat roads, at slow pace with many stops. Please notify us in advance your choice of bikes (small bike, seat for kids). You can shorten or alternate cycling with tour by rickshaw or private car (subject to supplement). We provide helmets, first aid kit, rain coat, life vest, towel, tea & water. Please bring your refillable bottle.
Cultural discoveries and rural immersion are the main focus. You will participate in cooking a fresh and healthy lunch at local home. Please advise special diet if any. You travel with a storytelling guide and interact with villager hosts on many safe and fun activities (See full description in Itinerary). Tour order is indicative and can be fine tuned to ensure your best comfort and authentic enjoyment.
Child rates are applied for children 6 to 11 years old. Children below 6 years are free, please make a note in the booking. For families with many children, we recommend using the Inquiry Form to request the most favorable Family Offer.

Depart from the city center around 8:00. After half an hour of warm-up cycling (3km), you leave the city behind to follow countryside roads that wind along canals, ducks, and rice fields.
Thanks to the guide’s storytelling, you appreciate the deep-rooted wet rice culture and its central role in Vietnamese life. Admire charming village temples, colorful mosaic patterns. By chance, you may be absorbed with ancestral ritual practices at a seasonal celebration.
Call by a farmer’s house and lend a helping hand with farming jobs. Activities are seasonal, in real life settings and very entertaining. Enjoy a farmer tea-break with a local healthy snack. Continue your immersion with fishing experience on a laid-back pushing boat ride along Như Ý river. Occasionally the fishermen will challenge you with sampan racing or tending the duck flock. Grab some trick-of-the-trade to catch some fishes for your lunch or eventually fun trade at the village market.
“He that would have the fruit must climb the tree” is the principle for your homely lunch with a local family. Learn from the host’s rice-theme recipe and share your skills to make the experience meaningful for all parts.
After lunch, hang on with locals around the restful Thanh Toàn ancient tile-roofed bridge. Situated adjacent the village market and mighty rice fields, this beautiful architecture was built by the virtuous Madame Trần Thị Đạo in the 18th century. By mid-afternoon, enjoy interactive experience with local artisans to make a palm conical hat or wrap and taste sticky rice cakes. Return to the city on bamboo shaded green roads.
This was a fantastic experience. The connection to rural life (farming + fishing + the market) was outstanding and will be one of the highlights of our tour.

We all really enjoyed this day. It was excellent thorough the day. Minh was very knowledgable and friendly and also helpful. Highlight: fishing and being able to see rice harverst in action. Also being able to help cook on lunch was great.
We really enjoyed a local tour of villages nearby Hue. Would over the local market and could ask any question. The fishing was so much fun! Lunch was amazing – even more as we were allowed to help! Highly recommend this to everyone!
So nice to experience a bit of normal life in Vietnam. I love the market and just riding through the village. Because our children are tired we didn’t do the whole tour. Thanks for adjusting the tour to our family needs. Kids love the pancakes!
The whole experience was perfect thanks to our guide. She make us so comfortable with her attitude and as the connection between local and us, we have learnt a lot from Hue culture. I would just do more emphasize on the importance of rice to Vietnamese culture and their people. But it was a perfect way to meet people and Vietnamese culture.
