Homalomena Occulta Essential Oil

Homalomena Oculta “Thiên Niên Kiện” is a precious medicinal plant that grows naturally in the Truong Son mountains. Hoofed animals like deers, chamois have strong bones and high endurance thanks to eating a lot of leaves of Homalomena Occulta. The Ta Oi and Paco ethnic people in the A Luoi mountain region often use this plant to improve health, fight joint fatigue, and aid digestion. Local people can use the leaves to cook, chew the rhizome or crush and apply it directly to the painful area. Distill Thien Nien Kien plant as essential oil and herbal products is part of a project to conserve genetic resources in Truong Son Anamite Mountains. It also helps to improve livelihoods for poor people in A Luoi district, Nam Dong, to participate in growing natural medicinal herbs and exploiting sustainably.

• Features:The essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation of the roots and rhizomes of Homalomena Occulta. The liquid oil has a light yellowish colour, warm and long-lasting scent.
• Health benefits:
  • Health care: In traditional medicine, Thien Nien Kien helps cure rheumatism, stomach pain, stimulates digestion, cures menstrual pain. Thien Nien Kien is an herb that helps to increase physical strength, anti-inflammatory, and cures colds. The essential oil has strong antifungal properties.
  • Herbal Cosmetics: Homalomena Occulta essential oil is rich in linalool with a special aroma, high aromatherapy value, often used to produce high-class perfumes.
• Instructions for use:
  • Put 3-5 drops into the lamp or essential oil diffuser to clean the air in the room, help relax, sleep well, remove moldy odors caused by the weather.
  • Mix with carrier oil at the ratio of 10-30% to massage directly in the place of pain such as in the neck, shoulder, finger joints, knees and feet. If carrier oil (coconut, olive, jojoba) is not available, we can apply it directly but limited to 3 drops at most.
  • Mix with lemongrass essential oil, Hue ginger essential oil at 1:1:1 ratio, then dissolve with 10% carrier oil to massage joints. It supports pain relief, protect and clean skin.
  • Note: Do not use more than instructed amount because the essential oil is strong, condensed and may cause headaches.

• Origin of raw materials: Sustainably collected from medicinal herbs project under the natural forest canopy in Nam Dong and A Luoi districts, Thua Thien Hue province.
